KAFDOC has high technical expertise and extensive experience in education, child rights, child protection, increasing food security, supporting market linkages and income generation, natural resource management, fishery, water and sanitation, good governance (I-SAF), Eco-tourism, community resilient, DRR, Climate Change, women and community empowerment.
Currently, KAFDOC focuses on two of Cambodia’s north-eastern provinces: namely Kratie and Mondulkiri. The projects’ target communities are selected in conjunction with our partners: Childfund Cambodia, SNV (Stichting Nederlandse Vrijwilligers or “Netherlands Development Organisation”), NEP (NGO Education Partnership) and CARE Cambodia. These communities are affected by poverty, lack of education, child rights abuses. Therefore our projects on Education, Food Security, Income Generation, Child Rights, Women empowerment and Good governance are of particular interest for these communities.
Within these provinces, the selection of the target schools was based on the guidelines set up by KAFDOC and in accordance the Ministry of Education Youth and Sports’ guidelines. These guidelines have set strong geographical prioritized areas according to the most vulnerable groups of children including child laborers, children with experience of domestic violence, girls at risk, children living in great poverty, children with disabilities, minority groups, but also, the high level of commitment from the School Management Committee (SMC), and active involvement of the SSC (School Support Committee), communities and local authorities.
